Cowboys Sign Spillman

The Dallas Cowboys and former San Francisco 49ers safety C.J. Spillman have agreed to a deal.  Spillman, who is 28 years old, who played as mainly a special teams player, racked up a career-high 25 tackles last season and was released by the 49ers on Saturday.  Over the last four seasons of his career, he played 59 games for the 49ers.

Spillman began his career with the San Diego Chargers where he played for Cowboys current special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia. We expect the Cowboys to make a few roster adjustments to incorporate Spillman onto the roster.  They also signed linebacker Korey Toomer to a new deal, so a spot will need to be free’d up for him as well.
